In Los Angeles, the Sparks beat the Fever 100‑91 last night at Crypto.com Arena. This win ended Indiana’s five-game winning streak and helped the Sparks stay strong on their home court.
The Fever started the game well, but the Sparks took control in the second quarter. They were ahead 54‑43 at halftime. Indiana tried to come back late in the game, but it wasn’t enough.
Rickea Jackson scored 25 points, most of them in the second half. Kelsey Plum also had a big night with 25 points and 11 assists. Azurá Stevens added 19 points, making 7 of her 8 shots. Dearica Hamby helped too with 16 points.
On the Fever side, Kelsey Mitchell scored 34 points, including seven three-pointers. Natasha Howard added 17 points. Aliyah Boston was close to another double-double, finishing with 15 points and 9 rebounds. But without Caitlin Clark, who is out with an injury, Indiana couldn’t keep up.
During the game, something strange happened. A green object was thrown from the crowd and landed near Fever player Sophie Cunningham. Kelsey Plum quickly kicked it off the court. Cunningham laughed, but this is the third time this week that fans threw sex toys onto the court at WNBA games. Players are now asking fans to behave better.
The loss ended Indiana’s best run in almost ten years. The Sparks have now won all three games against the Fever this season. They will meet again in Los Angeles on 29th August.
