Adrian Mardell worked at Jaguar for 35 years and was the CEO for the last 3. He helped the brand move toward electric cars. But one recent ad made people very angry.

The ad came out in November. It lasted only 30 seconds and showed no cars at all. Instead, it showed models in bright clothes with words like “Copy Nothing,” “Live Vivid,” and “Break Moulds.” It quickly got 47 million views. But many people didn’t like it. They said Jaguar had lost its true style.

People on social media made fun of the ad. Famous names like Elon Musk and Nigel Farage also said it was a bad move. Jaguar’s sales in Europe dropped by almost 98% in April this year.

Still, Jaguar stood by its ad. The company said it wanted to reach new customers and show that it’s changing. Jaguar is now working on electric cars. One of them is called the “Type 00,” which they showed off in Miami last year. But not everyone liked it.

Now, the company has picked PB Balaji as its next leader. He will become CEO in November. He’s the first Indian to lead Jaguar.
